Breath Easy Every Time your Open the Refrigerator Door with Help from PureAir Filters

PureAir refrigerator filters trap, neutralize and remove the molecules that cause odors from your fridge and freezer. When left unattended, odors can wreck havoc inside your refrigerator! They can contaminate other foods and drinks stored in the fridge, causing them to taste bad. At Frigidaire, we have two PureAir refrigerator filters available – PureAir Ultra and PureAir Universal filters. Performing better than baking soda, both filters rid fridges of odors, but the filters also have differences.

The PureAir Universal filter system is designed to fit all makes and models, and uses carbon blocks to remove foul odors from refrigerators and freezers. Each Universal starter kit comes with one filter housing and one filter. The Universal PureAir filters housing can be hung on the inside wall of your refrigerator or freezer, or attached to the bracket of a shelf or inside a drawer. We recommend replacing this filter after six months, if the fridge releases a strong odor, or if food and beverages have an odd taste. Replace the old filter with one from a PureAir Universal 2-pack of replacement filters from Frigidaire. Save the housing from the starter kit, since it works with the replacement filters!

PureAir Ultra Frigidaire refrigerator filters is designed to specifically fit Frigidaire, Frigidaire Gallery model refrigerators and professional side-by-side French door refrigerators. It’s recommended that you replace these PureAir filters every six months, if the refrigerator has an odor, or if your food and drinks have a weird taste. Replacing the filter is simple!

  1. Remove the old filter from its housing and dispose of it properly.
  2. Take the plastic wrap off the replacement filter, and use the pull-tab to tear off the perforated part of the filter.
  3. The months of the year are listed on the edge of the replacement PureAir filters. Circle the month that you’re installing the new filter, so you’ll remember to replace it in six months.
  4. Slide the new filter into the housing, making sure to align the filter with the vents locate on the side of the housing, and keeping the calendar facing out.
