| Moving into a new home is always exciting, but no matter where you choose to live, there are always going to be a few things that need fixing or replacing when you move in. Usually, these fixes and updates are small like a coat of paint or new chrome drip pans on the range, but without fixing them now, you may just get frustrated with them later! Take some time and update your new kitchen. Here's a quick checklist of items you won't want to miss out on fixing up or replacing: 1.) When you move in, take some time to go through and replace any burnt out light bulbs in appliances or light fixtures. If you want to save more on your energy bills, switch to eco-friendly bulbs. 2.) Do your walls look a bit dull and dingy? Try giving them a good scrubbing with a cloth, some warm water, and a mild soap. If that doesn't rid you of the grime, it may just be better to add a fresh coat of paint that you can care for right on day one. 3.) Your stove's drip pans are probably in need of replacing, so head to Frigidaire to pick up the porcelain or chrome drip pans you need to get your stove working at its best. We carry porcelain and chrome drip pans in a variety of sizes, including universal options that are sure to fit in your range, no matter what its brand or style. 4.) While you're at the range, give your oven a look and see if it needs a good cleaning. If it's self cleaning, just flip the knob and you're done. If not, invest in a strong oven cleaner that can cut through all of the grime. 5.) Take a look at the floor and see if any tiles are damaged or starting to come up. Repair them as needed. 6.) In your fridge, make sure all of the racks and shelves are in great condition. If not, head to Frigidaire to grab a few replacement parts. 7.) Use appliance touch-up paint to fill in any scratches that the last owners or tenants may have caused. 8.) Don't think you need to replace your chrome drip pans? Then give them a good cleaning and see if you can get them looking brand new. Try boiling water and adding a bit of baking soda. Boil for 15 minutes to loosen the grime then scrub with a paste of baking soda or a dish detergent. 9.) Give the baseboards and ceiling a good scrubbing. Chances are they're way overdue for a cleaning. 10.) Go through the freezer and fridge and clean them out. You may run into some sticky spills that the last tenants or owners left behind. |
