Make Tender Roasts with BBQ Grill Rotisseries

Southern BBQ Grill Rotisserie Roast


3-1/4 lb rolled rump roast



For the Sauce/Marinade:
3 tablespoons canola oil
3 tablespoons butter
1 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup bourbon
3/4 cup ketchup
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup pure maple syrup
1/4 cup dark molasses, unsulphured
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt



1. In a large saucepan, melt butter and oil over medium heat. Add onions. Saute until golden.
2. Add remaining ingredients and stir well to combine.
3. Reduce the heat to low. Cook until thickened, about 30 to 45 minutes.
4. After the sauce has cooled, marinate the meat in it for 24 hours. Set some sauce aside for basting.
5. Preheat grill.
6. Place the marinated roast on the BBQ Grill Rotisserie until balanced. Cook at medium heat until desired doneness or about 3 to 4 hours for medium rare. Baste the meat periodically throughout the roasting process. Use a meat thermometer to determine appropriate doneness.
7. Serve with warm sauce and your favorite sides.
